According to the Public Relations of Radio Salamat, Hossein Rastegar, head of the National Halal Research Center of the Food and Drug Administration, referring to the current situation in the country, said: The Halal mark is currently issued by the Standards Organization, and the Food and Drug Administration also provides Halal approvals.

He suggested that other institutions and industries related to Halal should also be active in the development of this field.

Emphasizing the breadth of activities in the health sector, he stated: The scope of Halal is not limited to food only and also includes medicine, medical supplies, cosmetics and health products, natural medicines and supplements.

He added: The general perception is that a halal product is only food, while its scope is very broad and also includes livestock, agricultural, tourism and cultural services.

Referring to the future of the pharmaceutical industry, Rastegar said: "Many pharmaceutical products will be produced from cells and genes, and a significant portion are of animal origin; therefore, compliance with halal in this area becomes more important."

He noted: "The Persian Gulf countries have created a common structure for halal and have a trillion-dollar investment plan. It is also necessary to create unity and coherence in the halal sector within the country so that the standardization, livestock, agricultural, economic, and health-oriented capacities can be properly utilized."
