A faculty member of Tehran University of Medical Sciences announced significant progress in the development of the Sina National Remote Robotic Surgery System and said: Investment in production is an investment in the people.
According to Radio Salamat Public Relations, Dr. Alireza Mirbagheri, CEO of Sina Robotics and Medical Innovators Company, announced this news on the program "Greetings to Life" and added: This system is the result of ten years of continuous research and development, which has passed all technical tests, standards, preclinical studies on animals and human cadavers, and has received permission to enter human clinical studies since last year.
He added: Clinical studies on volunteer patients have begun since mid-April of this year, and so far eight gallbladder removal surgeries have been successfully performed on patients aged 42 to 63. All patients were discharged the same day or the next day.
Referring to the impact of this technology on reducing the recovery period, Mirbagheri said: If we perform surgeries that were previously performed open with a robot in a closed form, the recovery period will be reduced from one to two weeks to one day. In surgeries that were previously performed laparoscopically, the recovery period is similar, but the accuracy of the operation with the robot increases significantly.
He explained: Every movement of the surgeon's hand on the console is copied one-tenth of the way into the surgical instrument inside the patient's abdomen. This means more precise control, less vibration, and higher quality in performing the operation.
Referring to the slogan of the year 1404, the faculty member of Tehran University of Medical Sciences stated: This path will not only be an opening for people's livelihoods, but with government planning and public participation, economic challenges and sanctions can be overcome and a bright future can be achieved.
