Iran capable to export medicines, medical equipment to Africa

Iran has the potential to export medicines and medical equipment to 20 African countries, the director of the Iranian Food and Drug Administration (IFDA) for international affairs said.

Hamid Reza Inanloo stated that more than 20 African countries participated in the 2nd Iran-Africa Trade Summit, earlier this week, which can lay the ground for strengthening more cooperation with African states in the field of exporting health-based products.

He went on to say that 200 merchants from Africa took part in the summit and the industrial capacities of the country were introduced to the businesspersons in the field of producing medicines and medical equipment.

Inanloo pointed to Iran’s capabilities in the health sector and emphasized that the country can share its fruitful experience with other countries in this field.

Iran is ready to help African states in equipping their medical centers with advanced medical equipment, the official continued.

The ground has been set for transferring the technical know-how and technology of the medicine and medical equipment industry to the African states, he added.

The Second Iran-Africa International Summit was held in Tehran on April 26-29.
